Don’t you just love watching CSI? Wouldn’t it be great if you had a mobile game based on it? Well, now developer and publisher of mobile games, Gameloft, have launched CSI: Miami in the USA. They also announced a worldwide multi-year, multi-game agreement with CBS Mobile to develop, publish and distribute games based on CSI.
CSI: Miami has been made in concert with Anthony Zuiker, executive producer and creator of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He says, “A mobile game adaptation of a CSI series is the perfect balance for a franchise with a fan base that watches the show with such a high level of engagement and interest in interactivity. We are excited to join forces with Gameloft and are confident in their expertise to capture the essence of CSI and translate it into a quality mobile game.â€
Gonzague de Vallois, VP, Gameloft says, “We are delighted to welcome CBS as a partner and look forward to a long term relationship. The CSI franchise set the bar for primetime crime drama television by engaging viewers on all levels. The mobile games will expand the CSI storyline into a fun and interactive experience.â€
Cyriac Roeding, Executive Vice President, CBS Mobile explains, “This is a new quality level of cross-platform development. By involving Anthony Zuiker, the creator of CSI, directly in the mobile game development, we will make much more than just a ‘brand extension’ of the CSI franchise. This is what we call true ‘platforming’ of content. Gameloft is one of the best mobile game developers in the world, and we’re pleased to add them to our growing list of best in breed partners. Gameloft truly thinks ‘mobile’ when creating games – that matches CBS Mobile’s approach.â€
CSI: Miami has been developed by Gameloft and CBS Mobile. The mobile game is available on most major carriers and can be downloaded directly through AT&T, T-mobile, Sprint and Verizon. Some time ago, a CSI game was also announced for the Wii and the Xbox 360 by Ubisoft.

Jon, Justin Long, Mark Sheldon and Shepard Fairey are featured in this week’s Jonesy Jukebox Jury (#23 - July 20, 2007) podcast from indie 103.1 fm which can be downloaded for free here at the iTunes store. It’s a very entertaining podcast filled with quite a few celebrity voice imitations, tacky jokes, man talk about man parts, singing (a hilarious and really non-PC version of the song Lola) and more! Happy downloading!
